The two constant refrains in the Rostock protest were Make Capitalism History and Make Poverty History invoking the idea that the two statements follow each other logically, and yet at the same time there seems to be something orofoundly illogical about having both these thoughts together at the same time.

I think your observation is really interesting and i would like to add some further complications: does something "being made history" mean it looses relevance or the opposite? what notion of the past and what conception of time is expressed by such slogans? more or less ironically they seem to refer to the idea of a linear progress in which something new and without a name is supposed to fix the bugs of the present.
